The course teaches the fundamentals of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology. Students will learn basic electrocardiography procedures, interpretation of basic dysrhythmias, and appropriate treatment modalities. EKG’s are critical in helping determine a patient’s heart health. EKGs check the electrical activity of the heart to access heart rhythm, rate, strength and timing and pointing to signs of heart disease. An EKG is one of the first assessments provided after a heart attack and helping prescribe treatment.
